Under attack by 7th AAF bombers, a corner of Iwo Jima airfield in the Japanese Bonin Islands shows more than twenty Japanese fighters and bombers including broken planes previously destroyed. The 7th AAF bombing objective: to smash the remaining aircraft; wreck equipment. How well this is done is shown in the accompanying photograph.
