Jap airfields on Iwo Jima take a knock-out blow from 7th Air Force bombardiers as shown in this high altitude photo of enemy air installations in the Volcano Islands. The triangular field, most important of the two Iwo Jima airstrips, is smothered in a display of expert marksmanship, while damaging strings fall on aircraft parking areas and airfield installations of the alternate field. The small cluster of bombs between the two fields hit gun emplacements.
